Deck overview

This deck is a specialized 5-color spellslinger deck constructed entirely out of creature cards to satisfy the companion requirement of Umori, the Collector. Led by Codie, Ravenous Codex, the deck leverages the Prepare mechanic and Adventure cards to cast instant and sorcery spells from creatures. When Codie is active, every prepared spell cast is automatically copied. Mana engines like Bloom Tender, Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius, and Storm-Kiln Artist generate explosive velocity, while prepare spells such as Seething Song, Ancestral Recall, and Demonic Tutor create massive card advantage and mana. Token generators including Young Pyromancer, Third Path Iconoclast, and Kykar, Wind's Fury flood the board, which are then buffed by Magmablood Archaic or converted into a win via Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate and unblockable goad attacks via Bothersome Quasit. The deck trades traditional counterspells and artifact staples for extreme creature synergy and flavor.
