Banding by ArtyMaus

Format: Commander

Commander: Jandor, Fortuned Traveler

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a low-to-mid-power Naya combat deck built around saddle and banding, helmed by Jandor, Fortuned Traveler. Jandor is the linchpin: he turns the deck's Wolves, Elephants, Camels, and Beasts into Mounts with saddle 2, and every successful saddled attack replaces itself by drawing a card and making a Food token. The 99 leans heavily on classic banding creatures such as Benalish Hero, Kjeldoran Skyknight, and War Elephant, using banding's damage-assignment advantage to push through or soak up attacks. The deck finishes either through a huge trampling Jumbo Cactuar one-shot or the two-card infinite-damage loop of Guilty Conscience plus Phyrexian Vindicator. Fast mana like Sol Ring, Mox Diamond, and Chrome Mox can accelerate Jandor out early, but the deck lacks tutors, so it plays as a grindy, incremental combat engine.
