Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive Boros token swarm strategy commanded by Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon. The primary game plan revolves around deploying Anim Pakal early and attacking with non-Gnome creatures to accumulate +1/+1 counters. This rapidly scales an army of attacking 1/1 Gnome artifact tokens. The deck converts these tokens into lethal damage through two main vectors: direct enters-the-battlefield burn from pingers like Impact Tremors, Agate Instigator, and Witty Roastmaster, or overwhelming combat damage amplified by Shared Animosity, Cathars' Crusade, and Akroma's Will. Token doublers such as Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation accelerate this growth exponentially. To sustain momentum, engines like Skullclamp and Caretaker's Talent convert token output into steady card draw. Excellent defensive spells including Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection defend the fragile board state against sweepers, while a backup Heliod, Sun-Crowned combo provides reach against stalled boards.
