Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Bant deck helmed by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is a value-oriented combo-control build that leverages Derevi's untap/tap trigger to fuel mana generation, repeatable flicker loops, and ETB abuse. The primary game plan is to assemble an infinite-mana engine using Peregrine Drake, Emiel the Blessed, and Enduring Vitality (or any creature that taps for mana), then deploy a finisher such as Moonshaker Cavalry, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, or Agent of Treachery. The deck also packs a dense suite of instant-speed interaction, board wipes, and protection spells to control the tempo of the pod. Secondary paths include combat damage via token swarms (Scute Swarm, Falcon and Redwing), and extra-turn pressure from Kang the Conqueror. The commander itself is a flexible enabler, untapping mana dorks or locking down opponents' permanents, but the core infinite combo does not require her.
