Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain and group slug midrange strategy commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary game plan focuses on deploying early mana rocks and lifegain permanents like Authority of the Consuls and Soul Warden, then casting Liesa on Turn 4 or 5. Once on the battlefield, Liesa levies a mandatory 2-life tax on every spell cast by any player while attacking as a 5/5 flying lifelink threat. The deck breaks parity on symmetric life loss through continuous lifegain triggers and converts that life buffer into lethal pressure using payoffs like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, and Marauding Blight-Priest. Supported by heavy stax pieces such as Drana and Linvala, Blind Obedience, and Painful Quandary, alongside a dense suite of flexible removal and board wipes, the deck grinds down opposing life totals over three turn cycles without relying on infinite combos.
