Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Mardu Artifact Aristocrats build commanded by Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter. The deck leverages Jan Jansen's innate haste and dual activated abilities to continuously cycle between artifact creatures and noncreature Treasures. By deploying cheap early artifact mana rocks and expendable utility artifacts, Jan Jansen begins churning tokens as early as turn 3 or 4. As token creation and sacrifice events accumulate, the deck converts these game actions into game-ending life drain using a redundant package of burn and aristocrat payoffs, including Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, Marionette Apprentice, and Mayhem Devil. While the list features powerful untap synergies such as Clock of Omens and Thousand-Year Elixir, it predominantly operates as an incremental attrition and burn engine that applies heavy table-wide pressure around turn 6 and reliably closes out the game by turn 8. Strong targeted removal and one-sided sweepers provide solid board control.
