Deck overview

This Boros deck leverages Chief Magistrate of Mercadia to establish monarch control and exponentially duplicate creature tokens every upkeep. Early turns focus on mana acceleration and deploying low-cost token generators such as Skrelv's Hive and Staff of the Storyteller. Once the commander resolves on Turn 5 or 6, it immediately secures the monarch, providing steady card advantage and activating its upkeep doubling ability. The deck converts this wide token presence into victory through damage amplifiers like Warleader's Call, Molten Gatekeeper, and Arabella, Abandoned Doll, alongside anthems such as Inspiring Leader. To retain monarch status, the list incorporates defensive deterrents including Champions of Minas Tirith and Archon of Coronation. Because the strategy is heavily permanent-based and lacks instant-speed protection, it relies on out-valuing opposing removal or rebuilding with standalone token engines like Rabble Rousing and Assemble the Legion.
