Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul stompy engine piloted by Kodama of the East Tree and Alena, Kessig Trapper. The strategy focuses on accelerating through early mana dorks and rocks to deploy high-CMC threats ahead of curve. Once Kodama enters the battlefield, every permanent deployed cheats an additional equal-or-lesser mana value permanent directly from hand, doubling the deck's board presence in a single turn. Alena converts high power into massive bursts of red mana to fuel subsequent high-cost spells. The deck maintains momentum through power-based draw engines such as Garruk's Uprising and The Great Henge. It finishes games through decisive combat steps augmented by damage doublers, trample enablers, and extra combat steps from Savage Beating, while using flexible spot removal and sweepers like Beast Within and Blasphemous Act to keep opposing boards in check.
