Deck overview

This deck is a monoblack midrange strategy centered on Savanti Romero, Time's Exile. It accelerates into Savanti on Turn 4 using low-cost mana rocks and early Treasure-producing creatures. Once deployed, Savanti places a +1/+1 counter on itself at the start of each combat, growing larger while drawing cards equal to its counters. Because this draw inflicts equal life loss, the deck offsets the damage using lifelink counters and buffs like Unexpected Fangs and Duskfang Mentor. As Savanti grows into an evasive 7/7+ trample threat, end-of-turn discards fuel synergy engines like Archfiend of Ifnir, Faith of the Devoted, and Feast of Sanity. The deck closes the game through progressive commander damage combined with table-wide drain from Psychosis Crawler, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, while relying on efficient 1-mana reanimation instants to shield Savanti.
