It's Thar Time!!! by markuswaters8

Format: Commander

Commander: Ruric Thar, the Unbowed

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is the deck's stax piece and attacker, not its only win condition. The core plan is to accelerate with early mana dorks and cost reducers, land Ruric by turn four, then bury opponents in a flood of 4+ power creatures. Noncreature spells cost opponents 6 life, while the deck's own draw and removal are mostly stapled to creatures to dodge that tax. The deck wins primarily through a large Craterhoof Behemoth alpha strike, with Beastmaster Ascension and Finale of Devastation as backup overruns and Twinflame Tyrant doubling every damage source. There is no hidden commander; Purphoros, God of the Forge provides a secondary damage path as each creature enters.
