Deck overview

This deck is a Shadowborn Apostle-fueled Orzhov Demon pact, helmed by Athreos, God of Passage. The primary plan is to deploy a swarm of Shadowborn Apostles, using their ability to sacrifice six copies to tutor any Demon directly onto the battlefield. Athreos acts as the glue: when a trigger returns each creature to hand, or each able to pay 3 life to exile it. With 30 Apostles, you can consistently chain sacrifices. Finishers include Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain, Syrax the Grim mill/drain, or massive Demons like Vilis, Broker of Blood to refill your hand. The deck leverages death triggers (Teysa Karlov, Dictate of Erebos) to generate board control and card advantage. It's a relentless value engine that slowly grinds opponents out.
