Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari Insect typal strategy commanded by Zask, Skittering Swarmlord. It leverages the graveyard as an extended hand, recurring sacrificed or milled Insects and lands to generate consistent card advantage. Early turns focus on establishing land drops, minor acceleration, and incidental self-mill through pieces like Grisly Salvage and Crawling Infestation. Once Zask enters on Turn 5 and begins operating on Turn 6, the deck converts disposable Insect tokens into card flow and board presence. On Turn 7, payoffs like Aatchik, Emerald Radian, Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, and Scute Swarm create an overwhelming board state. Opponents are eliminated over two combat rotations via wide attacks and aristocrat life drain from The Meathook Massacre, supported by Swarmyard Massacre to break through opposing blockers. While resilient against single-target destroy effects, the deck remains vulnerable to mass exile and graveyard hate.
