Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Orzhov combo-control engine commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It leverages an explosive ramp package consisting of format-defining fast mana like Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, Mana Vault, and Dark Ritual to deploy its 6-mana commander ahead of curve. Once assembled, the commander transforms every instance of lifegain into card advantage by paying life equal to the amount gained. Pairing the commander with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse generates a self-sustaining loop that draws the entire library while increasing the pilot's life total. The deck converts this influx of resources into an immediate same-turn kill using Aetherflux Reservoir or the infinite drain loop of Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity. Disruptive stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate and Opposition Agent buy crucial setup time, while protection spells like Grand Abolisher and Silence ensure clean combo execution.
