Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes the partner pairing of Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder and Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar to mount a lethal combat and attrition strategy. Falthis grants both commanders menace and deathtouch, while Bruse Tarl grants double strike and lifelink on ETB and attack triggers. This combination allows your commanders to dominate combat, trade favorably against blockers, and deal rapid commander damage while maintaining a high life total. The deck backs up this aggressive core with efficient fast mana (Dark Ritual, Sol Ring), unconditional black tutors (Demonic Tutor, Grim Tutor), and robust card advantage engines like Black Market Connections and The One Ring. When facing crowded boards, asymmetric sweepers such as Ruinous Ultimatum and Austere Command clear opposing blockers while preserving your advantage. Heavy mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth support massive game-ending spells including Torment of Hailfire, providing reliable reach to close out the table.
