Hakbal Tribal Tempo by poriomania

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Merfolk deck uses Hakbal of the Surging Soul to make every Merfolk explore at the start of combat, growing +1/+1 counters, filtering draws, and cheating lands into play when Hakbal attacks. You build a board of lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident, then push damage with unblockable from Herald of Secret Streams, islandwalk, or Rogue's Passage. Counter doublers like Doubling Season, The Earth Crystal, and Hardened Scales accelerate the clock, while Kindred Discovery and Emperor Mihail II refill your hand. A secondary infinite-turn win uses Deeproot Pilgrimage plus Wanderwine Prophets with Kumena as a tap outlet. Hakbal is the main engine; Kumena and Emperor Mihail II act as hidden engines if Hakbal is removed.
