Deck overview

An amass-focused Grixis deck that uses Sauron, the Dark Lord as a card-advantage engine and Saruman, the White Hand as the hidden commander. The typical game develops a tapped mana base, drops Sauron on turn 4-5, then buries opponents under a huge Army. Saruman doubles every amass trigger, and Assault on Osgiliath converts that Army into a one-shot double-strike kill. Ringsight can tutor the finisher, while Call of the Ring and combat Ring tempts keep the hand full. Lord of the Nazgul offers a secondary Wraith swarm, and many creatures provide recursion and amass value. The main fail states are tapland slowdown, losing the Army before the finisher, or having Saruman or Assault answered.
