Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula commands an explosive Grixis combat-spellslinger deck centered on copying spells cast while attacking. By leveraging Azula's Firebending 2 attack trigger alongside low-cost instants, the deck turns combat into a devastating storm phase. The game plan focuses on deploying early mana acceleration, attacking with Azula by Turn 4, and doubling cheap card draw, rituals, and combat tricks. Key magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality generate massive mana and card velocity with every cast and copy. With instant-speed enablers such as Borne Upon a Wind, the deck flashes in sorceries and permanents during combat, duplicating game-ending threats. The deck closes games decisively in a single turn using recursive burn loops via Underworld Breach and Guttersnipe, massive board wipes with Delayed Blast Fireball, or one-shot commander damage strikes with Unleash Fury. Supported by free interaction and redirection, the deck presents high lethality and resilience.
