Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Voltron and stax control strategy commanded by Zur the Enchanter. The game plan focuses on deploying 2-CMC mana acceleration on Turn 2, casting Zur on Turn 3, and attacking on Turn 4. When Zur attacks, his ability searches the library for an enchantment with mana value 3 or less and puts it directly onto the battlefield without paying its mana cost. The deck uses this reliable tutor engine to assemble massive card advantage via Necropotence, layer protective auras like Diplomatic Immunity and Shielded by Faith, and deploy asymmetric lock pieces such as Rule of Law and Solitary Confinement. Zur breaks parity on these restrictions by cheating enchantments into play through combat rather than casting them. Once defenses and locks are secure, Zur fetches powerful stat-multiplying auras like Steel of the Godhead, Battle Mastery, and All That Glitters, eliminating each opponent in succession through lethal commander damage by Turn 7.
