Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Mardu combat-cheater list centered on Kaalia of the Vast. The core game plan focuses on casting Kaalia on Turn 4 and attacking on Turn 5 to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. By deploying game-ending threats like Master of Cruelties, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, and Balefire Dragon, the deck bypasses high mana costs to apply immediate lethal pressure. The list features dense functional redundancy in top-end creatures, backed by robust spot removal, flexible board sweepers, and potent free defensive spells like Deflecting Swat and Flawless Maneuver. While the strategy is inherently vulnerable to well-timed creature removal targeting Kaalia, alternative engines such as Sneak Attack and Necropotence provide backup avenues to maintain pressure. The deck reliably closes out multiplayer games across 2 response cycles after establishing its initial combat threat.
