Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan establishes early passive damage triggers through low-cost enchantments and creatures like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Zo-Zu the Punisher. When Valgavoth enters on Turn 4, these triggers cause opponents to lose life on their own turns, growing Valgavoth into a massive flying threat while drawing three extra cards per turn cycle. On Turn 5, the deck converts this resource advantage into critical pressure using damage multipliers and heavy punishers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Manabarbs, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Wound Reflection. The resulting combination of cumulative burn and flying commander damage eliminates all three opponents by Turn 7. Robust spot removal and free spells defend the engine, while independent burn pieces ensure consistent pressure even without the commander.
