Deck overview

This Abzan deck partners Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful with Reyhan, Last of the Abzan to execute a fast, resilient +1/+1 counters beatdown strategy. Yoshimaru provides an immediate Turn 1 presence that grows with every legendary permanent cast, while Reyhan enters on Turn 3 to supply baseline counters and ensure those counters transfer to other threats if a creature dies. The 99 is densely packed with counter doublers, legendary creatures, card draw engines, and premium defensive spells. While the deck lacks fast combo wins or hard stax locks, it generates rapid combat pressure starting around Turn 5. Its standout feature is a premier defensive suite featuring free spells and phasing effects like Clever Concealment and Flawless Maneuver, which protect built-up boards from wipes and exile effects. It wins by turning massive modified creatures sideways with trample, fear, or Akroma's Will.
