Scions & Spellcraft (Budget Upgrade)(Y'shtola Drain) by user5025601

Format: Commander

Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed leads a spellslinger control deck that blends life-drain pressure with a deep instant-speed interaction suite. The commander's two abilities-drawing a card whenever a player loses 4+ life in a turn, and dealing 2 damage to each opponent on casting a noncreature spell with mana value 3+-create a self-reinforcing engine: every 3+ MV noncreature spell drains the table, advances the life-total threshold, and refuels the hand. The deck backs this with cost reducers (Baral, Chief of Compliance, Archmage of Runes, Case of the Ransacked Lab), a dense counterspell package (Rewind, Undermine, Counterpoint), and premium sweepers (Toxic Deluge, Cleansing Nova). Primary wins come from Exsanguinate for massive X-drain, Professor Onyx's magecraft triggers, a Metallurgic Summonings token army, or a Inkshield blowout. The game plan is grind-first: control the early turns, build a commanding life lead, then finish with an overwhelming spell.
