Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari token swarm and aristocrats midrange strategy commanded by Hazel of the Rootbloom. The primary game plan establishes an early board of Squirrel, Food, and Pest tokens, then uses Hazel's end-step ability to duplicate them exponentially. Hazel converts this token army into explosive mana, enabling massive mid-game plays like Genesis Wave, Beledros Witherbloom, or tutoring up Craterhoof Behemoth to overwhelm all three opponents in a single combat step on Turn 6. In addition to combat overruns, the deck features aristocrat drain engines like Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, and Blood Artist, as well as an infinite combo between Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Pitiless Plunderer. The deck excels at resource generation and card draw through Skullclamp and Shamanic Revelation, though its reliance on sorcery-speed removal and vulnerable wide boards makes it susceptible to mass exile sweepers.
