Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Meren of Clan Nel Toth to build a recurring aristocrats and attrition engine. It ramps during the opening turns with mana dorks, land fetchers, and cheap self-mill creatures to seed the graveyard. Once Meren enters on turn 3 or 4, each sacrificed creature builds experience counters, allowing her to reanimate creatures directly to the battlefield at every end step. The deck converts this loop into board dominance by sacrificing and recurring edict creatures like Accursed Marauder and Plaguecrafter, backed by Grave Pact and Tergrid, God of Fright to strip opponents of their boards. Defense is reinforced through a repeatable Spore Frog combat fog. The deck finishes the game by draining all opponents with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, or by sacrificing massive creatures to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, closing games around turn 7.
