Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos combat-aristocrats engine led by Ares, God of War. Ares forces itself into battle every turn and returns any attacking creature that dies back to its owner's hand. The strategy turns this ability into repeatable value by attacking with self-sacrificing creatures, enter-the-battlefield edict engines, and blitz threats like Lightning Skelemental, Accursed Marauder, and Atsushi, the Blazing Sky. When these creatures die in combat, Ares returns them to hand for immediate recasting. Aristocrat staples such as Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and Mayhem Devil convert every death and combat exchange into direct life drain across all opponents. Additional pressure from goad effects like Kardur, Doomscourge and damage multipliers like Berserkers' Onslaught accelerates the clock, closing out the table around Turn 7 without relying on infinite combos.
