Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck helmed by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The strategy floods the battlefield with Merfolk creatures and tokens, then uses Kumena's tap abilities to convert the wide board into card draw (tap three) and +1/+1 counters (tap five). The deck leans heavily on untap engines - Seedborn Muse, Murkfiend Liege, Quest for Renewal, and Intruder Alarm - to activate Kumena multiple times per turn cycle. Primary win conditions are Craterhoof Behemoth pumping the team for lethal, Simic Ascendancy racing to twenty growth counters, and unblockable combat damage via Herald of Secret Streams and islandwalk. A strong +1/+1 counter subtheme (Hardened Scales, Germination Practicum) and a deep draw suite (Kindred Discovery, Seafloor Oracle, Hakbal of the Surging Soul) keep the engine running. Intruder Alarm plus token generation forms an infinite combo with Kumena's tap abilities.
