Deck overview

Oloro, Ageless Ascetic is an Esper lifegain-control deck that treats life as both a resource and a win condition. The commander is mostly a command-zone engine: his upkeep lifegain trigger functions even if he is never cast, turning on drain payoffs and alt-win thresholds while the rest of the deck controls the table. The primary wins are compact and layered: Thassa's Oracle plus Demonic Consultation empties the library; Sanguine Bond with Exquisite Blood - or a duplicate payoff in Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, or Enduring Tenacity - creates an infinite life-gain/drain loop; and Bloodletter of Aclazotz with Shredder, Shadow Master can convert one unblocked attack into lethal life loss. The shell is classic Esper control: removal, counterspells, tax pieces, and symmetric wipes buy time for a tutor or draw engine to assemble the kill.
