This deck is a Grixis Rat Tribal strategy that leverages Marchesa, the Black Rose to create a resilient, recursive engine. The primary game plan is to deploy a swarm of Rats-utilizing tribal payoffs like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm and Wick, the Whorled Mind-and use Marchesa s Dethrone ability to ensure they return to the battlefield after being sacrificed or destroyed. By combining sacrifice outlets like Ayara, First of Locthwain and Plumb the Forbidden with "enters/dies" triggers from Impact Tremors and The Meathook Massacre, the deck generates massive incremental value and drain. The deck can pivot into explosive finishes via Plague of Vermin or a massive Wick, the Whorled Mind Snail sacrifice. Marchesa is the lynchpin, transforming temporary Rat tokens and utility creatures into an immortal army that punishes opponents for having the highest life total.
