Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black spellslinger control strategy helmed by Toshiro Umezawa. It turns the traditional black removal suite into a potent card advantage engine by flashing back instants whenever an opponent creature dies. Supported by mana doublers such as Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers, the deck controls the board during the early and mid game through efficient 1-mana and 2-mana removal. In the late game, it converts this board control into victory using asymmetric threats like Massacre Wurm, Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, Thrilling Encore, and Professor Onyx. With protection spells like Feign Death and Imp's Mischief, Toshiro stays resilient while out-attritioning the table.
