Desolation of Smaug by Knurlnien

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Smaug, Wicked Worm commands a Rakdos Treasure-burn shell that weaponizes artifact generation and sacrifice. Casting Smaug punishes opposing artifact development by creating Treasure tokens, which turn subsequent spells into fuel for card advantage. The deck leverages artifact multipliers, ritual draw spells, and aristocrat drain effects to assemble massive burst damage across the table. Victory is achieved through multiple convergent angles: burning opponents with artifact enter and leave triggers like Reckless Fireweaver and Mirkwood Bats, tutoring lethal Dragon packages via Magda, Brazen Outlaw, chaining copy spells with Storm-Kiln Artist, or establishing an immediate victory trigger with Hellkite Tyrant.
