Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Orzhov aristocrats and hatebears strategy commanded by Kambal, Profiteering Mayor. It leverages low-cost acceleration, premium black tutors, and efficient stax pieces to control the pace of the table before executing a compact, instant-speed life drain combo. The primary win condition combines Warren Soultrader and Gravecrawler with Kambal on the battlefield: sacrificing Gravecrawler creates a Treasure token that Kambal turns into a net-neutral life trigger while draining all opponents for 1 life, which then pays for Gravecrawler's recast from the graveyard. Supporting pieces like Drannith Magistrate, Blind Obedience, and Voice of Victory suppress opposing interaction and fast combo lines, while cards like The One Ring, Skullclamp, and Esper Sentinel ensure continuous card advantage. Flexible backup plans via Phyrexian Altar and Tombstone Stairwell give the deck strong operational resilience.
