Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Kaalia of the Vast as a premier cost-cheating combat engine. The primary plan accelerates into an early Kaalia deployment on turns 3 or 4, utilizing haste enablers like Lightning Greaves and Dragon Tempest to attack immediately. Each attack drops massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons straight from hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking for zero mana. Lethal synergies such as cheating Master of Cruelties provide an instant turn-4 player knockout, while Archfiend of Despair, Utvara Hellkite, and extra-combat engines like Aurelia, the Warleader overwhelm the remaining table. The deck breaks parity on severe mana stax pieces like Winter Orb and Hokori, Dust Drinker by cheating expensive threats without tapping lands. Strong proactive protection spells shield Kaalia from removal, while tutors like Hoarding Broodlord and Razaketh, the Foulblooded assemble backup combos such as Aurelia and Helm of the Host to ensure an inevitable victory.
