Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Orzhov Aristocrats strategy powered by 26 copies of Shadowborn Apostle and led by Athreos, God of Passage. The primary game plan focuses on curving out Apostles during the early turns, casting Athreos for resilience, and sacrificing 6 Apostles on Turn 5 to tutor game-ending Demons directly onto the battlefield. Fetching Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Rune-Scarred Demon converts creature sacrifices into key payoffs such as Blood Artist, Bolas's Citadel, or mass recursion spells like Secret Salvage and Echoing Return. Athreos turns every death into a punishing choice for opponents, forcing 3 life loss per creature or returning Apostles directly to hand. The deck pairs this combo velocity with heavy asymmetric creature attrition through Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Archfiend of Depravity, consistently executing a lethal drain finish around Turn 6.
