Deck overview

This mono-red burn deck is commanded by Thor, God of Thunder, converting every noncreature spell cast into targeted noncombat damage scaled to that spell's mana value. Early turns prioritize establishing mana acceleration through artifacts, cost-reducers like Ruby Medallion, and explosive red rituals such as Seething Song and Jeska's Will. Once Thor enters the battlefield, the deck layers damage amplifiers including Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and Chandra's Incinerator to turn moderate burn spells into lethal strikes while repeatedly wiping opposing creatures. Graveyard recursion engines like Past in Flames and Mizzix's Mastery allow the deck to re-cast entire flurries of spells in a single turn, generating overwhelming burst damage. Mana engines like Neheb, the Eternal and Storm-Kiln Artist convert this spell velocity into massive postcombat mana, closing games around Turn 8 through accumulated direct damage and flying commander attacks.
