Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Mardu token swarm and burn deck led by Zurgo, Thunder's Decree. Zurgo's core mechanic, Mobilize, creates attacking Warrior tokens during combat. Crucially, Zurgo's static ability prevents those tokens from being sacrificed at the end step, allowing your attacking army to accumulate permanently across turn cycles. The deck accelerates quickly using top-tier fast mana like Sol Ring, Chrome Mox, and Mana Vault to deploy Zurgo on Turn 2 or 3. Once established, token entry triggers and attack doublers like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Warleader's Call, and Isshin, Two Heavens as One convert each combat step into heavy table-wide damage. To close games, the deck leverages decisive combat finishers such as Akroma's Will and Devilish Valet, while retaining an infinite two-card backup combo in Dualcaster Mage and Twinflame. Dense instant-speed protection and turn-silencing effects like Grand Abolisher and Dawn's Truce keep the board resilient against interaction.
