Deck overview

This Golbez, Crystal Collector deck is a dedicated Dimir artifact combo-control strategy. It uses low-cost mana rocks, artifact cost reducers, and potent card advantage engines to assemble game-winning artifact loops rapidly. Golbez provides incremental value by surveilling on artifact entries and recurring creatures like Phyrexian Dreadnought for recurring life drain once four or more artifacts are controlled. However, the deck's primary focus is assembling compact infinite combos. Lines like Isochron Scepter imprinting Dramatic Reversal and Chromatic Orrery with Filigree Sages generate infinite mana, which feeds directly into Walking Ballista, Aetherflux Reservoir, or Urza to close the game on the spot. Bolas's Citadel combined with Sensei's Divining Top offers an alternate storm finish. A deep tutor suite gives the deck high consistency, while targeted counterspells, Spellskite, and The One Ring protect the board until the winning turn.
