Witherbloom Pestilence - Secrets of Strixhaven by user9153708

Format: Commander

Commander: Dina, Essence Brewer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari sacrifice-and-life-gain deck centered on Dina, Essence Brewer, using token generators and sacrifice outlets to trigger death payoffs. The primary plan is to amass Pest/Saproling tokens, feed them into Viscera Seer and friends, and convert each death into life and opponent life loss through Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Dina, Soul Steeper. The secondary path uses Stensian Sanguinist to copy Exsanguinate for a one-shot drain, or a Blossoming Bogbeast/attack finish. Dina is an engine: her once-per-turn sacrifice trigger draws a card, and her activated ability can turn a large sacrificed creature into a huge life-gain and counter swing. The kill, however, comes from the 99, and the deck wins by grinding value over multiple turns rather than a compact combo.
