Deck overview

This deck is a classic Izzet spellslinger control list commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Its game plan centers on navigating the early turns through mana filtering and selective countermagic before casting its commander with open interaction. Once on the battlefield, Niv-Mizzet turns every instant and sorcery spell into card draw and targeted ping damage, wiping out opposing utility creatures while refilling the pilot's hand. Secondary payoffs like Guttersnipe, Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, and Prismari Pianist accelerate damage output and build defensive token armies. Disruption pieces such as Narset, Parter of Veils and Static Orb slow down opposing game plans to buy time for the commander. Because the list omits infinite draw combo enchantments, it wins through methodical board suppression, incremental burn, and flying combat damage over several turn rotations.
