Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius stax and prison build commanded by Lavinia, Azorius Renegade. It aims to slow the table to a crawl using low-cost tax and restriction permanents, then end the game with a hard lockout. Early turns establish static barriers using Deafening Silence, Drannith Magistrate, Cursed Totem, and Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, neutralizing fast mana, storm turns, activated abilities, and commander casts. Mid-game turns fortify defenses through attack deterrents like Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety. On Turn 6, the deck leverages its mana base to deploy Knowledge Pool or Omen Machine. Combined with Lavinia's static ability to counter any spell cast without mana, these artifacts prevent opponents from casting spells from hand or drawing new cards, creating a total lockout. The deck then seals victory through Approach of the Second Sun or steady combat damage.
