Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari graveyard combo and aristocrats deck led by Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Its main strategy is to fill the graveyard rapidly using self-mill, dredge creatures, and entomb effects, then deploy massive creatures whose power scales with graveyard size or life payments—such as Lord of Extinction, Wall of Blood, Souls of the Lost, or Jumbo Cactuar. Once a massive creature is on the battlefield, Jarad sacrifices it to drain all opponents of their life totals simultaneously in a single turn. The deck accelerates mana with efficient mana dorks and rituals, then uses redundant reanimation spells to bypass high casting costs. If opponents remove Jarad, the commander can return directly to hand by sacrificing lands, while backup win conditions like Altar of Dementia and combat damage with Brawn provide alternative lethal paths. Strong removal spells like Assassin's Trophy and Force of Vigor keep opposing threats in check while the combo is assembled.
