Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, focusing on big-mana X-cost spells and Hydra tribal synergy. The game plan centers on ramping aggressively in the first two turns, casting Zaxara on Turn 3, and leveraging its ability to produce two mana and free Hydra tokens whenever an X-spell is cast. Mid-game turns focus on chaining scalable draw spells like Pull from Tomorrow and Hydroid Krasis while steadily building an overwhelming board of massive creatures. Victory is achieved either by overrunning opponents with evasive combat damage using enablers like Garruk's Uprising, Archetype of Imagination, and Kodama of the West Tree, or by draining the table with a huge Exsanguinate. While the deck possesses explosive ramp and card advantage, it relies heavily on creature tokens and lacks dedicated interaction for non-creature permanents.
