Deck overview

This mono-black attrition deck uses Tergrid, God of Fright to convert symmetric sacrifice and discard effects into an overwhelming, asymmetric board state. The deck accelerates into Tergrid on Turn 4 using a dense suite of 2-CMC mana artifacts. Once Tergrid is in play, mass disruption spells like Dark Deal, Delirium Skeins, and Awaken the Erstwhile strip opponents of their hands and boards while placing all discarded or sacrificed permanents directly onto your battlefield. This creates an immediate resource lock, reducing opponents to top-deck mode while your stolen army attacks for the win over subsequent turns. If opponents manage to remove Tergrid, the deck relies on backup group-slug enchantments like Megrim and Painful Quandary to grind down opposing life totals.
