Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Spellslinger Midrange build helmed by Codie, Ravenous Codex. It focuses on the Prepare mechanic, utilizing a high density of split-faced creatures whose spell halves can be cast while prepared. Codie serves as both an enabler and an amplifier: its {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} activated ability readies the entire board by preparing every creature, while its static ability copies every prepared spell cast. The deck ramps on early turns, casts Codie on Turn 3, and achieves full engine operation on Turn 5. On Turn 6, it initiates a critical onset by copying explosive ritual and token-producing spells, establishing a wide board of Elementals and massive Fractals. It eliminates the table across two combat steps, closing the game on Turn 8. While rich in card draw and versatile removal charms, it relies on soft protection and lacks proactive stax pieces.
