Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul lands-matter aggro deck built around Toph, Hardheaded Teacher. It uses cheap ramp spells and Lessons to trigger Toph's earthbend ability, turning lands into resilient, hasty creatures that grow with +1/+1 counters. A unique feature of earthbend is its built-in resilience: when animated lands die or are exiled, they return to the battlefield tapped, preventing devastating mana-denial blowouts. Landfall engines like Scute Swarm, Rampaging Baloths, and Bristly Bill, Spine Sower create wide boards, while heavy hitters like Bumi, Unleashed and Toph, Greatest Earthbender provide trample, extra combats, and double strike to push lethal damage. The deck operates primarily through combat, ramping fast into midgame board states that overwhelm opponents by Turn 6 to 8.
