Throwing by Tylr

Format: Commander

Commander: Brion Stoutarm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Boros "giant fling" deck built around Brion Stoutarm: assemble an oversized creature, then sacrifice it to Brion's activated ability to throw its power directly at a player, with lifelink converting every toss into life. The deck leans heavily on a full threaten package - Act of Treason, Hijack, Furnace Reins, Kari Zev's Expertise - to steal the table's largest blockers, and supplements that with its own high-power shells in Malignus, Serra Avatar, Soul of Eternity, and Phyrexian Processor. Damage doublers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Gratuitous Violence, and Calamity Bearer turn a single throw into a lethal one, while Fling, Thud, and Stalking Vengeance provide backup or a same-turn second kill. This is a slow, telegraphed, high-variance strategy that wins through one-shot reach rather than infinite combos.
