Deck overview

Arnyn, Deathbloom Botanist commands a focused mono-black Aristocrats deck designed to grind down opponents through life drain and creature sacrifice. The deck optimizes low-power and low-toughness creatures, triggering Arnyn's ability to drain two life and gain two life whenever a creature with power or toughness 1 or less dies. Recursive threats like Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, and Reassembling Skeleton provide continuous fodder for free sacrifice outlets including Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, and Yahenni, Undying Partisan. Card draw engines like Skullclamp, Morbid Opportunist, and Midnight Reaper maintain resource flow, while redundant drain payoffs such as Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance accelerate damage. Targeted removal spells and edicts like Accursed Marauder and Toxic Deluge control opposing creature boards. The deck reliably eliminates the table around Turn 8 through accumulated drain triggers or recursive loops with Pitiless Plunderer.
