Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around Vivi Ornitier, combining cheap instant and sorcery spells with storm mechanics and direct damage triggers. Vivi serves as both a scalable mana battery and a primary win condition, growing with every noncreature spell cast while pinging all opponents simultaneously. The game plan focuses on establishing early mana stability and deploying Vivi by Turn 3. On subsequent turns, the deck leverages card draw engines like Archmage Emeritus or Curiosity—which triggers three card draws per noncreature spell when attached to Vivi—to chain 1-mana cantrips and burn spells. As Vivi's power increases, its activated ability generates substantial blue and red mana to sustain long storm turns. Finishers such as Guttersnipe, Aetherflux Reservoir, Grapeshot, and an infinite loop between Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Curiosity close the game in a single turn. The deck protects its win attempt using cheap countermagic, Magic Damper, and Hexing Squelcher.
