Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius midrange strategy that maximizes the unique copy mechanics of Niko, Light of Hope. Niko creates Shard tokens upon entering the battlefield and can exile a nonlegendary creature to transform all controlled Shards into copies of that creature until the end step. The list pairs this engine with premier nonlegendary threats like Battle Angels of Tyr, Hero of Bladehold, Angel of Destiny, and Nesting Dovehawk, allowing non-summoning-sick Shards to attack immediately as terrifying flying beaters. Supported by a comprehensive flicker suite featuring Soulherder, Thassa, Deep-Dwelling, and Ephemerate, the deck generates enormous card advantage and token swarms while repeatedly recycling ETB triggers. Efficient single-target removal, instant blink spells for protection, and game-ending haymakers like Legion Loyalty and Cyclonic Rift provide resilience and board dominance.
