Format: Commander

Commander: Edgar Markov

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Edgar Markov is built as a token-pressure and drain engine: every cheap Vampire spell creates a 1/1 from Eminence, and his haste/first-strike attack converts a wide board into counters. The primary plan is a fast Vampire swarm with anthem effects and Sanctum Seeker-style drains; the secondary plan is a blood-life drain loop using Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Exquisite Blood, Sanguine Bond, Vito, or Enduring Tenacity. Edgar, the Charmed Groom is the hidden backup lord: its first face provides an anthem and it transforms late from Edgar of Markov's Coffin, but the deck rarely aims to use the Coffin face. The actual commander, Edgar Markov, is more commitment than a payoff; the deck prefers to tap him for a large attack.
