Commander: Grist, the Hunger Tide

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Insect graveyard engine built around Grist, the Hunger Tide. Grist's +1 creates Insect tokens and chain-mills Insect cards, building loyalty for its -2 removal and -5 mass drain. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard, amass a large token/beater board with Aatchik, Izoni, and Hornet Queen, and close with Preposterous Proportions or Return of the Wildspeaker. Grist's -5 is a secondary global finish once the graveyard holds enough creature cards. Recursion from Gleancrawler, Deadbridge Chant, and Honest Rutstein keeps the engine going. There is no double-faced commander and no true hidden commander; Aatchik and Izoni serve as secondary legendary payoffs.
